Get to know the horse
Review the horse's profile and ask about its background, training, current condition, and plans.
Learn what it means to share ownership of an individual Standardbred horse, from the first conversation to time at the races.
Each horse has 100 fixed shares. Each share represents 1% ownership of that individual horse. When an allocation is confirmed, that number is deducted from the horse's available shares. Allen Racing retains any shares that remain unsold.
An example: Five shares represent 5% ownership. If those are the only confirmed allocations, 95 shares remain with Allen Racing. This is an illustration, not an available offering.
Review the horse's profile and ask about its background, training, current condition, and plans.
Ask for the purchase price per 1% share and details of ongoing costs. Training, boarding, veterinary care, shoeing, transport, and other expenses may apply. Horse-specific terms should explain how costs are allocated.
Review the ownership agreement, your responsibilities, decision-making arrangements, and terms for transferring or ending ownership. Ask questions before committing.

Not yet. Public share purchases and online payments are currently unavailable. Contact Allen Racing for information about future plans.
No. A horse may not race, win, earn enough to cover expenses, or retain its purchase value. Costs can continue even when a horse is not racing. Any earnings, expenses, or sale proceeds are governed by the ownership agreement.
Do not assume they are. Ask for a clear breakdown of the initial price and ongoing charges, including how unexpected expenses are handled.
Transfer arrangements depend on the applicable ownership agreement. Ask about restrictions, approval requirements, fees, and how an exit would work.
